It never bothered me when the pee would ricochet off the urinal and back onto my clothes

A new poem

I wrote this last October while in San Fransisco. I have a note saying I wrote it in the basement bathroom of the hotel I was staying at. I personally love stains on clothes and think they should be embraced, even if it’s pee.

It never bothered me
when the pee
would ricochet

and back onto

I wear
those stains
like badges of honor
throughout the day
connected to my body
in a way others aren’t

this is real fashion
